Description

Region: Rapaura, Wairua Plains, Marlborough, New Zealand.

Winemaking: The grapes were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed into stainless steel barrels for fermentation with selected yeast.  Once the desired alcohol and residual sugar balance was reached the fermentation was stopped, the wine was matured on full ferment lees until racked and prepared for bottling.

Tasting Notes: The nose shows enticing aromas of honeysuckle, citrus peel, and beeswax.  Moving through to the palate gives notes of toasted lemon, honey and into characters of ripe golden stone fruits.  The luscious sweetness is countered by a lively acidity that brings a freshness to the wine and extends out to a lengthy finish.

Technical: Alcohol - 12.5%.  pH - 3.43.  TA - 7.6g/l.  RS - 103g/l.  Contains sulphites.  BioGro certified organic and vegan friendly.

Winemaker: Allan McWilliams.

Accolades:
“It’s wonderfully complex and lifted on the nose showing ripe apricot, honey, orange marmalade and cake spice aromas, followed by a delectably sweet palate offering creamy mouthfeel and rich texture. Well balanced by vibrant acidity, making it instantly appealing. At its best: now to 2026.” - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 93/100 points

"Organic Wines theme tasting - Certified organic, the classy, concentrated 2018 vintage (5*) was hand-picked in The Corners Vineyard, in the Wairau Valley, and matured on its full yeast lees until bottling in December 2020. Light gold, with a scented, slightly honeyed bouquet, it is currently delicious, with rich peach and apricot flavours, lively acidity and a sweet (103 grams/litre of residual sugar), finely balanced finish." - Michael Cooper, 5/5 stars
