All the Signs of Spring

Blossom loaded trees, gamboling baby lambs, the return of our mummy starlings trying to build a nest inside our sun umbrellas, and of course bud burst. Spring is the time of birth for our next vintage and a busy time for our viticulturalists. At Rock Ferry Wines, we cultivate between every second row in the vineyards ready to plant cover crops such as buckwheat, clover, phacelia, and sunflowers. Each of these plants play a role either in soil nourishment, repelling pests, or attracting beneficial insects.
Of course, as summer approaches there is plenty of activity here at the Rock Ferry Cellar Door as well. Our popular Twilight Market has re-started, our first cruise ship visitors have been and gone, and several of our new vintages are about to be released. Stay tuned!
