Description
Region: Rapaura, Wairua Plains, Marlborough, New Zealand.
Winemaking: Hand-picked and whole bunch pressed from our Avenue Block, predominately Clone 316. After settling the juice overnight, we racked to a large oak cuvee where an indigenous fermentation occurred. The wine was aged on lees in large format seasoned French oak for texture and complexity. Racked after 10 months and lightly filtered before bottling.
Tasting Notes: A beautiful balance of pink grapefruit, tropical papaya, and pineapple with fresh cut grass, nettle, and wet stone aromas. A vibrant structure of acidity interlaced with enticing citrus notes and lees influenced cashew-spiced characters.
Technical: Alcohol - 13.0%. pH - 3.25g/l. TA - 6.5g/l. RS - Dry. Contains sulphites. BioGro certified organic and vegan friendly.
Winemakers: Allan McWilliams & Jordan Hogg.
Accolades:
"Gorgeously styled and complex, the inviting bouquet shows apricot, green rockmelon, oatmeal, nougat and lemon peel aromas, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate offering finely textured mouthfeel backed by bright acidity. Beautifully composed and flowing to a persistent refined finish. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, wild fermented and matured in old French oak barrels." - Sam Kim, 94/100 points
