Description
Region: Rapaura, Wairua Plains, Marlborough, New Zealand.
Winemaking: The grapes were hand harvested in April. The fruit was bunch sorted, and whole bunch pressed. The free run juice was settled for 24 hours and racked clear, with 0% was then fermented in a concrete egg with cultured yeast, 35% was fermented in a stainless-steel tank, and 15% was indigenously fermented in a seasoned 500L French oak puncheon. The wine in stainless steel was racked after fermentation and matured on fine lees, while the wine in oak and concrete was left on full ferment lees for 8 months prior to blending and bottling.
Tasting Notes: A powerful nose is balanced with a salty minerality in this Pinot Blanc. Almond meal and ripe pear are the dominating flavours with a sharp, linear acidity.

"Refined and complex, the wine shows rock melon, fig, citrus and oatmeal characters on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate that's richly textured and lingering. It's wonderfully weighted and flowing to a lengthy engaging finish." - Sam Kim, 94/100 points
